By-catch threatens Southeast Asia’s largest sea turtle population
The Turtle Islands Park has been successful at protecting the nesting beaches of the green and hawksbill turtles that nest there. However, the fisheries that surround the small park threaten the turtles by accidentally catching them or drowning them in fishing nets.
